What is Rhino Trimming

In South Africa, rhino trimming involves carefully trimming or dehorning a rhino’s horn to protect it from poachers. The process is performed by trained conservation teams under veterinary supervision to ensure the animal’s safety. Since the horn is made of keratin, like human nails, it can be trimmed without causing harm. This proactive conservation method helps deter poaching while allowing the horn to grow back naturally over time.
